Remodeling Hi's and Low's

One must declare that there are benefits and problems when remodeling a home. This summer, we had the opportunity to have our house resided.  The new look and added insulation are benefits from the work that was done as evidenced by the pictures below.

On the other hand, we are in the middle of remodeling my daughters room, and the problem is that until the work is finished she does not have a room to call her own.

The disaster that is her room:

The hope is that she will be back in her room by summer, if not sooner.

Bleeding Hearts (Drake Chronicles, #4)Bleeding Hearts by Alyxandra Harvey

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Totally enjoyed this book, but the end was a surprise, and a dramatic cliffhanger.

I really enjoy this series, and I enjoy Lucy as a characters.  She is spunky, strong, and more forgiving than I might have been at that age.  What happens with her cousin was very surprising, and if I had been Lucy, I would have been very upset about it.  I'm enjoying the fact that the drake brothers are all slowly finding someone they can love, and it will be interesting to see how the entire series plays out by the end.

I have lent this series to a number of students, and they enjoy it just as much as I have.

The New Year

Now that Christmas is over and the new year is begun, it is time to think about what I would like to accomplish this year.

First, work on keeping my blogs up and progressing.

Second, instead of a New Year's resolution, my daughter told me about a New Year's word.  Deciding that was an interesting way to face the new year, I came up with a word I thought might be good for me - aspire.  It means: direct one's hopes or ambitions toward achieving something: rise high; tower above.  Synonyms are: desire, hope for, dream of, long for, yearn for, set one's heart on, wish for, want, be desirous of; aim for, seek, pursue, set one's sights on.

What do I think?  I think it is a wonderful word worth striving for.
